Site Update - March 2024

Appeal Ref: APP/D3505/W/23/3314690 - Land to the East of Sand Hill, Boxford CO10 5AD

The appeal was made under section 78 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 against a refusal to grant outline planning permission for residential development of up to 64 dwellings (Use Class C3) including means of access into the site (not internal roads) and associated highway and drainage works along with and provision of land for a community building (Use Class D1).

The appeal was dismissed 6 March 2024.

The site remains part of the Catesby Estates land promotion portfolio.  Catesby Estates are currently considering the outcome of the appeal decision and any future steps.

Boxford Public Consultation - 2019

Public consultation for our proposals for Weavers Green were carried out in 2019 including an exhibition which was held at Boxford Village Hall.

Catesby selected to promote land site in Boxford - 2018

Catesby Estates are pleased to announce they have been selected to promote a 14 acre site off Sand Hill, Boxford in Suffolk. 

Located within the administrative area of Babergh District Council, the site has potential for new homes, including a policy compliant percentage of affordable housing in an established residential area with a range of services and facilities within walking distance.  

The site is located to the East of Boxford village, off Sand Hill approximately 70m north of the Hadleigh Road (A1071).  The site is in a sustainable location, with a range of facilities within walking distance, including a primary school, pub and village shop.

Spokesperson for Catesby Estates said; “We are pleased to add this well located and sustainable potential residential site to our land promotion portfolio.” 

“Our in-house planning and technical teams will be now be working with both the Parish Council and the District Council to bring this site forward for housing.”
