Located immediately to the south of Finchampstead and adjoining the emerging Blackwater Country Park, the development will provide 38 new homes including delivering much needed affordable housing, providing a mix of rental and shared ownership properties.
As part of the wider development plans, improvements to local bus services during peak times are included to enhance public transport connections to and from Finchampstead, supporting both existing and new communities.
The scheme also includes generous public open space and integrated walking and cycling routes that connect the site directly to local services.
A landscape led design has carefully integrated the new homes while also supporting local wildlife through native planting and wildlife-friendly features.
A full planning application was submitted to Wokingham Borough Council in 2024 in partnership with Stonebond and has since been granted full consent.
Andy Wright, Associate Land Director at Catesby Estates, said: “This new development represents an important opportunity to deliver affordable new homes in Finchampstead. We are also pleased that the plans for the site include funding for improved bus services, which will strengthen connectivity for existing and new residents alike.”
Matthew Whale, Managing Director of Stonebond Guildford, added: “As a partnerships developer we’re always looking to work with landowners and other partners who are seeking to deliver high quality, mixed-tenure housing. This development will not only deliver high-quality affordable housing but also create a well-connected, sustainable community with enhanced green spaces and links to the surrounding countryside. We look forward to working with Catesby Estates again in the future to bring forward schemes that make a real difference for local people.”
