Planning Application 

The proposals for our site at Bishops Green which underwent public consultation was formally registered and validated by Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council in December 2021.

Within the administrative area of Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council, the greenfield land site is 55 acres and lies adjacent to an existing employment area with over 180 businesses, employing 2,000 people on Greenham Business Park.

Application number: 21/03598/OUT which can be viewed on the Council's planning portal.

  • Up to 300 new homes including 40% affordable housing 
  • Public nature park
  • 1.2 acres (0.5 ha) of space reserved for community facility use including outdoor sport and use and a community building  
  • Range of play areas including a local equipped area of play (LEAP)
  • Community orchard
  • A range of off-site improvements to highways and public transport, including upgrades to existing pedestrian/cycle links and local bus stops
  • Minimum 10% net biodiversity gain across the site
  • Additional green links through the developable area, and the site is designed to prioritise sustainable and active modes of travel, including walking, cycling, bus travel and electric vehicles   

Statutory consultees (e.g., Environment Agency, Highways England, Natural England and the Parish Council) and local residents will have the opportunity to formally comment on the application.

We will continue to work closely with the Council and respond to statutory consultees through the application process. This website will be updated as the application progresses.

College Copse Fields Public Consultation To Commence - August 2021

The public consultation for the proposals by Catesby Estates at College Copse Fields, Off Ecchinswell Road, Bishops Green is due to commence.

The website which is due to go live from Thursday 26th August 2021 contains the information we would normally use at a public exhibition and includes plans and links to useful resources.  The website will be updated on a regular basis as our proposals and our planning application for the site progresses.

Bishops Green Added To Catesby’s Land Promotion Portfolio - October 2020

Catesby Estates has entered into an agreement to promote land at Bishops Green, Newbury.

Within the administrative area of Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council, the greenfield land site is 55 acres and lies adjacent to an existing employment area with over 180 businesses, employing 2,000 people.

Nicholas White & James Cordery at Carter Jonas acted on behalf of the landowners.

Andy Wright, Senior Land Manager for Catesby Estates said; “During such a challenging period we are delighted to have added to our land promotion portfolio this well located and sustainable residential site.”

“We will be working closely with the Council and other local stakeholders to bring this site forward to deliver a comprehensive and sustainable residential development."
